WHAT A SURPRISE!
You may or may have not known that Lady Gaga was not the original Saturday night artist at Coachella this year. It was actually scheduled to be Queen B herself, Beyonce. Being extra, double pregnant (get it… she’s having twins!), Bey had to cancel her Saturday night headline performance at that giant music festival in California’s Colorado Desert.
Enter Gaga.
Hot off the release of her album, Joanne, a stunning Super Bowl performance and the announcement of a massive world tour, Lady Gaga was the perfect choice to replace Beyonce. This year’s Coachella headline performances were also broadcast live via YouTube, so fans all over the world could watch some of the biggest artists take the stage, which is what happened last Saturday night.
Gaga took to the stage for a 45 minute set of hits, performing to the weekends largest crowd. Love Game, Born This Way, Just Dance… they were all there. But the moment that created the buzz was her debut of a brand new track, The Cure. She hadn’t promoted it, she didn’t tell people to tune in to hear it. It was a genuine surprise to her fans on one of the largest stages.
The track is upbeat, it’s dancy and in keeping with the Joanne vibe, has Gaga’s honest lyrics. I love the track, and you should too. Check out the link here with the official audio and let me know what you think in the comment section.
