These organizations are helping with short-term emergency needs and long-term recovery from major fires that have ravaged the Inland Northwest and left so many in need of resources.
While not everyone can write a check, there are small ways you can help. On this page, you’ll find links to local organizations and how you can support their efforts.

Salvation Army has set up canteens in Medical Lake and Elk to support wildfire victims. The fully stocked canteens will have drinks, snacks, blankets, stuffed animals, and more. They’ll also have volunteers to provide emotional support to those in need. They’re also seeking volunteers to help staff the canteens and provide that support. Innovia Foundation is a Spokane non-profit that created a Wildfire Emergency Response Fund. The organization is working with non-profits, businesses and community organizations to fill immediate needs and also find ways to help with long-term recovery and rebuilding. Teen and Kid Closet is a Spokane organization that provides clothing to kids in need, typically focusing on foster kids or children in poverty. They’re working with families who were displaced or lost everything in the wildfires by providing an opportunity to shop for clothes. Project Beauty Share is a Spokane-based non-profit that provides hygiene and beauty products to non-profit organizations that support women and families. They’re collecting new hygiene products to help those displaced by the fires. You can donate at this link.
We’ve partnered with Safeway and Albertsons stores in the Inland Northwest to set up a donation process to support wildfire victims. You can donate next time to check out! Every penny of your check stand donation of $1, $3, or $5 will go to the organizations providing relief and comfort to those displaced by the Spokane wildfires. Funds collected will support the Salvation Army of Spokane and Project Beauty Share.

The Red Cross has collected enough donations to provide immediate food and shelter for these wildfires. The organization is always looking for volunteers who can help when disaster strikes.
